At a meeting of the Gentlemen of the Bandon Union on Monday December 6th they unanimously resolved to defend the constitution as fostering public prosperity and happiness. They declared determination to resist any attempt to overturn it, blaming wicked schemes or weak zeal, and ordered the resolutions to be published in the Cork and Dublin newspapers.
