Siege near Bouchain Amid Heavy Allied Preparations
From camp before Bouchain Aug 24 the Imperial Army pressed trench work and fascine preparation for a three pronged assault on the town. 2 lines of contravallation laid out, 4000 paces from enemy works, with major units named for the attacks and siege support. On the right and left, Generals Fagel, North, Grey, Colyear and Dopff coordinate with 46 squadrons and 20 battalions to press openings while workmen and battalions guard each attack. The effort follows recent troop movements and fortification updates across the front.
