Dixon teachers rally at board meeting in show of unity
About 100 teachers from the Dixon Education Association attended the Dixon Public Schools Board of Education meeting to display unity ahead of mediation and potential contract talks. Ferdinand Marcos dies in Hawaii after Philippines rule
Ferdinand E. Marcos, who led the Philippines from 1965 to 1986, died at 12:48 a.m. Hawaiian time at St. Francis Medical Center in Honolulu. The 72 year old, hospitalized since January 15 for lung ailments, had suffered heart and kidney failures and died of cardiac arrest. His son Ferdinand Marcos Jr. praised his father, while Imelda Marcos was reported well. Aquino opposed returning the body to the Philippines, citing safety and public order concerns.
