Dixon council weighs nearly $1 million from income tax funds
The Dixon City Council plans to continue deliberations on spending about $1 million in temporary income tax receipts over the next two years. Proposals include $200,000 to the Dixon School District, $25,000–$30,000 to the Dixon Park District, and $10,000 for a senior center van. The panel may separate storm and sanitary sewers in Swissville and North Hennepin Avenue, allot $200,000 for road work, end the chlorination tax to pursue a state grant, and approve a property annexation at 1004 East River Road for Ken and Carolyn Etchison’s Quality Cleaning Service with a 60 by 120 foot light manufacturing building. The meeting is at 7:30 p.m. in city hall.
