USGS reported a 4.4 magnitude aftershock lasting three seconds near the Santa Cruz Mountains at 9:50 p.m. No damage or injuries were recorded. The Oct. 17 Loma Prieta quake remains the largest event in the sequence.

Lee County Proclaims Recycling Awareness Month as St Anne Parish volunteers run a monthly recycling depot in the church parking lot. About 400 to 500 residents participate, with Freeport Recycling delivering two semitrailers each month. Donations fund St Anne School programs while diverting waste from the landfill.
