Ohio businessman Edward J. DeBartolo gives Notre Dame 33 million the largest gift in school history. Funds will create the Edward J. DeBartolo Classroom Facility valued at 16 million and the Marie P. DeBartolo Center for the Performing Arts at 14 million, plus general quadrangle development. Both facilities expected to open in 1992 during the universitys 150th anniversary.
