Bush gets consumer health and safety agenda from groups
A coalition of about two dozen consumer health and insurance groups delivered proposed tougher health and safety laws to President Bush and key officials. The agenda covers motor vehicle safety, home and product safety, indoor air quality, food safety, smoking restrictions, and limits on underage alcohol advertising, plus AIDS education and humane corporate policies. The coalition includes the American Academy of Pediatrics, AARP, the Center for Auto Safety, and major insurers like Allstate and State Farm.
