Dixon Illinois fire chief Edwin Voss was hospitalized Friday and listed in serious condition. Nursing supervisor Ann O Sullivan withheld specifics at the family’s request while chief officers run the station. Voss has led the Dixon Rural Fire Department since 1969.
A Lee County Sheriff's Department and local police blotter lists multiple adults and youths from Port Byron Amboy Steward and surrounding areas arrested or cited Sunday and Saturday. Offenses include driving under the influence liquor violations and minor in possession with bonds set from 50 to 100 dollars and notices to appear. one case involves an attachment for failure to appear.
A Dixon woman, Debra Hofmann, 41, was cited for failing to yield at an intersection after a two vehicle crash at Lincoln Avenue and West Second Street. Timothy Frey, 29, was the other driver. there were no injuries. Police also cited Kdi Cox, 45, for failing to yield when turning left after an accident at Palmyra Avenue and Fourth Avenue with Kris Murray as the other driver. Deputy reports a single vehicle crash on U S Route 52 north of Nachusa Road, involving Charles Reiners, 24, who was ticketed for speeding and failing to give information after his car left the road and hit a guard rail.
