Lee County seeks correctional officer applicants

Lee County Sheriff Tim Bivins invites applications for correctional officer posts at the sheriff's office in Dixon from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays. Requirements include 21+, U.S. citizenship, high school diploma or GED, valid Illinois driver's license, pass medical and psychological exams, sound character, and an oral interview before the Merit Commission. Applications must be submitted by June 30. starting pay is $17,000. River Month in Illinois promotes outdoor river recreation and conservation with events in Kankakee, Rock Falls, Bird Park, and Kankakee.
