Thomas Root, 36, of Alexandria Virginia, survived a plane crash fourteen miles east of Eleuthera Bahamas after losing consciousness from a suspected carbon monoxide leak. Police said he had a gunshot wound in the stomach and a gun in the plane’s glove box may have discharged on impact. Root denied any self harm and his family noted he owned about 20 guns.
