KSB to Receive Funds from Campbell Estates

Dixon bank trust will provide Katherine Shaw Bethea Hospital with between 3.5 and 4 million later this year from the Campbell estate. The Holly Campbell trust holds 831,891 and Avis Campbell’s will leaves 25,000 to Heritage Square and 15,000 to St Paul’s Lutheran Church with the remainder to KSB Hospital. Final estate details await six months, with administration costs and taxes reducing the eventual gift. Hospital officials say no use plans exist until funds are received.

Byron security guards end week long strike at Byron Station

Byron Station guards at Commonwealth Edison ended a week long strike Thursday night after narrowly approving a three year contract by a 62 to 57 vote. The workers, represented by United Security Service Employees Union Local, had demanded pay parity with other ComEd nuclear stations and had been on strike since February 2. Burns Security, the firm replacing Wackenhut, warned of job losses if the contract was not accepted and began taking applications for striking workers.
