Rochelle man arrested after Ashton stabbing

A Rochelle man, Thomas Phillips age 22, was arrested in Rochelle on aggravated battery and aggravated assault charges after allegedly stabbing Kenneth Safran, 28, in the neck at Aces Tavern in Ashton between 10 and 11 p.m. Safran sought help and underwent artery repair surgery at KSB Hospital. Phillips was taken into custody by Rochelle Police with detectives' assistance.
