POW/MIA Christmas Tree Ceremony in Rock River Valley
The Rock River Valley VietNow hosts a 12 hour POW MIA vigil December 16 at John Dixon Park honoring Illinois veterans missing or held captive from Vietnam Korea and World War II. A POW MIA Christmas tree will be lit with 98 bulbs for each missing Vietnam veteran one bulb for all WWII veterans and one bulb for all Korean veterans. Mary Howard of Task Force Omega will be keynote. Lighting runs 6 a m to 6 p m with a ceremony at 5 30 p m and lights burn until January 1.
