Lincoln birth cabin replica opens at Woodhaven Lakes
A full scale replica of Abraham Lincoln's log birthplace has been re assembled by Woodhaven Lakes owners for a grand opening later this year. Donated by the Chicago Historical Society the 15 by 11 foot cabin was built like a numbered jigsaw and shipped from Chicago to Woodhaven where tours will showcase the structure. The project cost 1300 to 1600 to assemble with donated labor and features a stone fireplace and dirt floor as logs treated with an acid bath for color.
