Woman Minister Uses Pulpit To Redefine Scragg End
In Scragg End a woman preacher Miss Barton arrives to lead services after a town widens its view. Her simple, earnest sermons win the crowd, but a courtly minister from Ponkapawket proposes marriage, testing her vocation. She remains dedicated to work while facing social pushback and a quiet romance with Lysander Hewitt.
