Grape Culture Talk Highlights At Locals Club
Members and guests met at W A Judd’s residence on June 20 1888, about fifty attending a dinner and lecture on grape culture led by W A Judd and J L Hartwell. Mrs E H Groh presented a practical paper praising soil richness sun and drainage, pruning guidance, trellis use, root shoots and bagging fruit. The meeting adopted topics for next time, elected new members, and adjourned to July 18 1888 with wives invited as honorary members.
