Water works debate tightens Dixon costs and plans
Dixon council weighs standpipe versus reservoir water works as cost and fire protection debate continues. Mr Starr offers six and a half miles of mains and 75 hydrants at 3500 per year, while McNeil proposes seven miles and 70 hydrants at 4875. Standpipe favored for constant pressure and safer fire service, reservoir for gravitation supply. Public canvass planned. tax impact discussed with potential offset from new revenue streams.
