Surprise Party For Miss Rosalie Gibson

Miss Rosalie Gibson was surprised with a church party on Wednesday evening hosted by the Baptist church members in honor of her birthday and her services as pianist. The social room was decorated in greenery, white roses, snowballs and syringa with a birthday cake and lights. Mrs. G. A. Martin presented Miss Gibson a cedar chest on behalf of the church members and pastor, praising her cheerful service.

Willits News Highlights Baseball and Summer Plans

Willits baseball club won 4 to 3 in ten innings against Fort Bragg. They travel to Ukiah next Sunday and may host the Fort Bragg team on Memorial Day. The Chamber of Commerce plans a one day Fourth of July celebration with dancing and a basket picnic. Memorial Day program with ex service men and students features speeches and music. Woman's Improvement Club rehearses for the three act comedy Deacon Dubbs to be staged June 2.

Death of L. Johnson Former railroad agent dies in Alameda

Louis Johnson, former Northwestern Pacific Railroad Company agent at Ukiah, died in Alameda at the home of his daughter Grace Mack Kerricker on May 17. He was 86 years and 10 months old. The Apollo lodge of Masons, Alameda, conducted the burial service.
