Private funeral services were held Sunday at 10:00 a.m. for George Maurice Wildberger 32 prominent Ukiah merchant who died Friday night after a week with diphtheria. Interment followed in Ukiah cemetery. Survived by wife Myrtle three children Dirk Donna George Jr his parents Mr and Mrs George L Wildberger of Napa sister Mrs Arnine Jordan of San Francisco and brother Laurence Wildberger of Ukiah. He was born in Ballard Washington.

Hop Control Board Debates Prices In Oregon Meeting
Warren Brown, one of two Californians on the Hop Control Board, traveled to Salem Oregon for a board session May 5th. The 16 member board including eight growers and four brewers has stabilized the hop market with prices steady from prior weeks. Recent sales reached 22 cents, with activity quiet after heavy contracting of the 1939 crop. local sales also reported at 22 cents.

Officer Reports Skid Indicates Plenty of Speed
H A Boydston of 1331 Chestnut Street San Francisco suffered a badly dislocated and torn left arm when his car skidded out of control about two miles north of Laytonville Monday. Dr. Raymond Babcock treated him at Howard Messarisi hospital as Traffic Officer Sam Snortridge noted 250 feet of skid marks before the scene. He was driving with his wife and two children at excessive speed according to the investigation.

Patient Fatally Injured After Fall From Truck At Hospital
William R. Dennis, 64, a Mendocino State hospital patient committed from Sonoma county, died after falling from a truck when a wheelbarrow on the vehicle slipped. He struck his head on the pavement and died a few hours later, authorities said. Dennis was among patients employed on the grounds.

About half of Mendocino county wool has been sold on contract with an estimated total supply near 160000 feeces for the year. Guy Redwine, a local buyer, has contracted most of the sold wool and prices have ranged around 22½ to 24½ cents. The wool quality is good, and lambs are selling early due to grass shortages and withering ranges pushing a market rush.
