Aeronaut Mars Injured After Balloon Ascent
Prof. J.C. Mars aimed to descend by aero chute in Dillon after an advertised ascent but a knot in the rope prevented release. He climbed the rope to untie it, then fell short of ground distance, injuring a hip. He and wife traveled to Butte for medical care while his brother covered dates in Blackfoot and Twin Bridges.

Finnish man shoots wife then slays himself on East Broadway
Seppanan a Finn shot his wife five times with a 32 calibre revolver in a room on East Broadway after a separation. He then slashed his own throat with a razor and died almost instantly. Mrs Seppanan is expected to recover.
