Miles City Montana September 8 The X I T Cattle Company plans to wind up its Montana range business this year shipping between 8000 and 10000 cattle as rapid transition from grazing to farming accelerates in the Treasure State.
Allen Newton of Helena who drew number one in the Spokane Indian reservation drawing receives many marriage proposals and photographs from women across the country. He is 34, works at the U S assay office, and has received five letters from Chicago in one day.
News from Madison County Virginia on September 7 notes wolves from Upper Ruby valley increasing in number. Packs of 12 to 24 are common and farmers fear soon they will endanger livestock. Brook Nook stock farm reports eight standard bred colts lost this year and Ruby Valley cattle losses also rising.
An old time ad advertises Bucklen’s Arnica Salve as the greatest healer on earth. It claims quick relief for burns cuts boils and pains with a sales pitch urging buyers to act fast and visit Potts the druggist.
Missoula on September 6 reports Mrs. W. T. Stone wife of the supervisor of the Lolo forest reserve is dying from burns after an attempt to light a fire with kerosene. Doctors say there is no hope for recovery as her flesh from waist to head is burned.
Helena Montana September 4 Charles W Cannon longtime Helena pioneer and prominent business figure died today at the family residence after a long illness.
Edgar N Bayliss, a Robinsonville Delaware merchant, says his years of coughing and illness ended after using Foley's Honey and Tar. He reports a complete recovery and a gain of twenty eight pounds with the remedy at City Drug Store.
The Rev Charles E Miller pastor of St Pauls Methodist Episcopal church died suddenly yesterday at the parsonage after a three day illness with erysipelas and heart failure. The death shocked his congregation and many city friends in Helena.
