Arctic Rescue Chronicle of a Renewed Polar Rescue
Captain Otto Sverdrup recalls leading the Sviatogor relief expedition to the Kara Sea to save 87 aboard the steamship Salovel Boudimirovitch. The crew battled dense polar ice, tracked the Solovei, and ferried coal and provisions before returning to Bergen and then home to England.
