Bears and deer and salmon dominate frontier notes

Mrs Bray and Miss Josie rode north to Deer Lodge to visit Miss Della Bray at school. Tom Trader killed three large bears last Saturday while also having two deer the day before. Jack Leitch arrived from Henrys Lake with 250 pounds of salmon trout. KR Freeman bought the lot. S Cook and T B Craver plan to improve flocks by crossing with champion Shropshires. They purchased fifty one thoroughbred Shropshire rams from Michigan, urging others to follow.

Pneumonia Claims Fidward Johnson at Kennedy Lodging House

Fidward Johnson died of pneumonia yesterday at the Kennedy lodging house once run by Albert Rutten. He had worked as a blacksmith in Sheridan and saved about $200 to send home to Ogden. only $10 remained when searched. Uncertain whether the money was sent or stolen. Johnson was noted as a member of LO O F and A O U W. Relatives in Ogden have been notified and await instructions.

Northern Pacific promotes low round trip fares to Chicago as the year’s best inducement to visit the World’s Fair. A Barber M Joyce from Butte was arrested on a telegram from Sheriff Reynolds. Joyce’s wife and four children, aboard the southbound train, were kept under guard at Mrs. Yarham’s lodging. Mrs. Hill, mother of Engineer GeoFill, narrowly escaped death at the U N depot after slipping on a frost slick platform and suffering a broken arm and multiple injuries.

A sizable Masonic delegation traveled from this city to Lima on Tuesday evening for the installation of Evergreen Lodge. Members listed include G W Dart, T Wing, G L Paul R.C. Halliday, E P Dungan, S D Hooker, Adolf Eel, and Emil Timer. Dart served as installing officer proxy for Grand Master Webster of Missoula, with P W Grace named first Worshipful Master as Evergreen Lodge extends greetings and notes its thriving status.
