The Dillon Tribune outlines advertising rates for local notices and announcements, including display ads, brevier notices, and free marriage and death notices when desired. It notes submission deadlines, pricing, and mailing terms for the official city and county paper with county area and population details.
The Tribune attacks P D M for including sixteen years of interest in the old Bannack court house cost. It argues the bonds financed warrants and other county expenses, not just the building, and dismisses interest as nonvalue. The piece deflates P D M as valuing overstatement and cites the marble slab noting total cost at 41000 and bonds of 40000 over twenty years.
The text surveys issues from poll tax literacy tests in Mississippi and universal suffrage debates to university praye r and compulsory education. It notes Anaconda and Hecla mining impacts in Montana, a county board appointment, and criticizes government meddling with printers. It also jokes about Grover Cleveland’s newborn daughter being used in campaign messaging and mocks press visuals.
Small ads and notices promote Lydia Pinkham stock, Gold Coin stoves, Dillon Mercantile Co supplies, dress fabrics, Moss Lodging House reopening under Mrs B Haines, Dillon Implement Co wagons, Bee Hive school aids, Eliel's Parisian wraps, and through Pullman rail service improvements.
