Great Northern plans short line to San Francisco via Helena
The Helena Independent reports that the Great Northern intends a Mondak to Helena to San Francisco route connected with the Gilmore & Pittsburgh line. Forest Homestead Survey Fees Slashed by Federal Agreement
Washington October 11 with an agreement between the Interior and Agriculture departments settlers on National Forest land under the Forest Homestead Law will not pay for a second survey when filing for patent. Forest Service surveys will be accepted by the Land Office, reducing duplication and costs for national forest homesteads.

Trains Deliver Ties and Rails for Gilmore & Pitts Roadwork

New Orchestra Debuts With Dance Series In Dillon
The Dillon Orchestra opened at Dart Hall on September 30 to a large crowd and seeks to sustain interest. A new series begins tomorrow with added musical numbers never before heard locally. The first special occasion dance will be the Halloween Dance on October 28. Miss Jean Bishop is due home next week after a trip east that began June 1.
