N. E. Hammer declares going out of business and offers entire stock and store fixtures at cost. He has run a first class clothing and furnishing goods store in Dillon for years with a fair trade and good dealings but rising competition leaves no living profit. He may relocate to another line and his Dillon future remains undecided.

William Kelly died of strychnine and morphine poisoning at Butte this week. Riley Kirkpatrick, formerly of Sheridan, died in Butte on Sept 22. John Stewart, Bilger Star native, died Sunday at 46 leaving a wife and three children. Madison county teachers institute to meet in Virginia City on October 16. Life crushed on Northern Pacific bridge near Butte when Alderson died after a car and engine jumped a track and rolled down the embankment.
