Butte Youths Die in Auto Accident
James McVeigh and Herbert Worring, prominent Butte youths, drowned when their car plunged 70 feet into the Big Hole river near Dewey while en route to a dance. An inquest found drowning as the cause after an early morning discovery. Sheriff McCollum noted the battery was removed before the wreck was found by rancher J. McLeod who notified authorities.

Dillon Youth Wins Stock Judging Honor
Carl Hansen of Dillon has been named to Montana State College’s livestock judging team for the Pacific International Livestock Exposition in Portland Oregon October 5 to 12. Six members plus an alternate will compete in judging contests next Saturday. the team departed Bozeman Tuesday with Ross Miller assistant professor of animal husbandry.

DeLos Selway prominent former ranchman dies in Anaconda after brief illness aged 63. Born on a local ranch, he spent most of his life in Dillon and eastern Montana. Funeral held at Brundage chapel with Rev. Meeke officiating. interment at Mountain View Cemetery. Survived by widow, a brother Richard Selway of Alzada, and several cousins.

John Jackson reports the loss of about 600 head of sheep from the Big Hole basin southwest of Jackson. About 150 were recovered near their range after a heavy rain erased tracks. he and helpers have searched a wide area in Montana and Idaho for 10 days, contending the flock was driven away with no markers missing.
