Rites Held for Pioneer Matron
Mrs. Jennie Painter Bishop, a Dillon area pioneer born in Warsaw New York in 1889, died Sunday. She and husband John F. Bishop moved to Montana in 1868 and built a hospitable home in Dillon. Survived by two daughters two grandchildren and a great grandson. Funeral services were held Tuesday at 1 30 pm at the Presbyterian church with Rev. T J Simons officiating.

Funeral services held for former Dillon resident Blanche Romey
Funeral services for Blanche Romey were conducted at Brundage chapel last Friday with Rev. Edward Smith of Butte officiating. A former Dillon resident, she attended local school while her parents J. J. Blaylock operated a ranch here and she left many friends who were shocked by her death.

Sale of Fox Pelts to Bring Large Sum
Fox pelts from Beaverhead valley ranches are to be sold this winter by Silver Black Fox Farms operators. Estimates by C I Blinn of the Dillon Superior Farm place receipts between 35000 and 40000 dollars, with pelts about 30 percent higher in price than last year. About 900 foxes from local ranches will be pelleted, while some operators hold their best pairs. Sixty foxes from Somers were recently brought in for processing at the former Western Wholesale Co building.

John L. Banks longtime Dillon resident died at his Thomson avenue home after a long illness. Funeral Monday at Brundage chapel with Dillon lodge of Elks and Beaverhead post of the Legion assisting. Survivors include his widow Dora Meine Banks a son Harry H. Banks three brothers and a half brother with roots in West Virginia Idaho California and Los Angeles.

Death summons Frank Giudici at 62 in Montana
Frank Giudici aged 62 died at his ranch home north of the city after a brief illness. A native of Switzerland he immigrated to America, settled in Beaverhead county about 35 years ago with a brother, and lived in the valley. He is survived by his son Louis of this city and daughter Madaline in Lewistown. Funeral Tuesday at 2 30 from St James Episcopal church with Rev H N Tragitt officiating. Interment followed at Mountain View cemetery.

Gifts of Autumn pageant to be staged at training school
Next week the assembly program at the training school will present Gifts of Autumn on Wednesday November 29 at 10 o clock. Elizabeth Wilkinson portrays autumn summoning six philosophers to nominate autumns fairest gift with fruit or vegetable songs stories dances or stunts. Apple and Popcorn win finals with Indian Corn third. fourth grade boys display potatoes and the rose with other grade reps. The event will be repeated Wednesday evening at the training school auditorium with parental and teacher support promising a pleasant entertainment. Dr W J Romersa will speak on Teeth care at the Parent-Teachers association meeting November 21 in the primary building. Primary pupils display health posters while an inter class basketball tournament at Normal College gym draws great interest and proceeds fund an electric scoreboard for the season. A day basketball tournament is also staged by third graders.

Illness Fatal Claim For Mrs Sophia Gleed In Dillon
Mrs Sophia Gleed, longtime Dillon resident, died at her North Pacific street home Thursday morning after a prolonged illness. Born October 80 1859 in Alissa Derbyshire, she came to the United States as a young woman and lived in Beaverhead County eighteen years. Survived by four daughters and three sons including Mrs I P McAttee Twin Falls Idaho and Earl Leigh of Pocatello. Funeral held at Masonic hall under Mizpah Chapter Order of the Eastern Star with Rev J A Meeke officiating. Remains shipped to Blackfoot Idaho for interment.

Suspect Nabbed At Lima In Bogus Check Case
P H Lovell was arrested at Lima while traveling south from Dillon. He is charged with writing a fictitious $26 check at Metlen hotel, which was found bogus. Lovell and his wife were returning when Lima officers intercepted them. He was arraigned in justice court and asked for 49 hours to enter a plea.

About 65 people attended a Future Farmers of America Father and Son event last Saturday in the Beaverhead County High School agricultural rooms. A government pork shipment including ham and ribs was received last week and will be distributed to relief recipients who register at the courthouse relief headquarters. Commissioners Hartwig and Graeter routed portions to Lima and Wise River, with registration deadline set for December 1 at the national re employment office.

Verdict Favoring Plaintiff in Cash Meat Market Suit

Annual Charity Ball Proves Great Success
Dillon Lodge No. 1554 LB. PO. E. held a large charity ball at city hall attracting over 750 attendees. Groceries donated as admission formed a clear profit to be distributed in winter through Associated Charities to needy residents.
