Bielenberg Sells Hold 9 000 Acres to Walker in Big Hole

Nine thousand acres of Big Hole ranch land change hands with a half interest transferring from N J Bielenberg and wife of Deer Lodge to David D Walker of Anaconda for 82000 dollars. Several other deeds filed include transfers in Dillon Wisdom Jackson and Lima areas and mining claims.

Water drilling contract let to Anthony French in city effort

Digging resumed on a cross cut ditch near the headworks to bedrock as part of a city water search advised by Engineer Kelsey of Salt Lake. The 150 foot crosscut may lead to a shaft near the creek if bedrock yields no water. seven to eight hundred dollars already spent with work to proceed rapidly.

William Dingley, Idaho rancher near Clark’s canyon, married Miss Jean Montrose of Lewistown on November 3. The couple will reside at the Clark’s canyon ranch. wedding was at the bride’s home with few friends present. Mrs. Dingley is a popular Lewistown alumna and they will be honored later by friends including Mr. and Mrs. Sim Estes.

Lead Five Cent Pieces Circulate Causing Slot Machine Difficulties

In the past few days a large quantity of lead five cent pieces has circulated across the city and as a result the slot machines have been hard pressed by bad money prompting renewed public attention.

Emiline Ellis Gray born 1840 in Scott county Missouri died at Bannack Montana on Tuesday November 10 after a paralysis stroke a day earlier. She moved to Montana with husband Robert N. Gray in 1865 and lived in Bannack ever since leaving behind seven surviving children and a husband. The elder pioneer was laid to rest in Bannack cemetery after a short service attended by family and friends.

Wm H Dudley killed in the Indian Queen mine last week lies in state for a Spanish American War veterans military funeral at Dart hall Dillon. Co EB comrades and militia led service with a half hour sermon by Rev Dr Martin and a firing squad burial at Mountain View cemetery.
