Red Rock Lake hunting trip ends in near disaster
A group including Messrs Schurr Poindexter and Hirschman treks from Dillon to Red Rock Lakes in late October. A gale capsizes a boat, sending hunters into icy water and scattering guns. Ripley Poindexter and Stevens rescue the party, while Hirschman suffers delirium but recovers. Nine days of travel yield heavy duck and goose bags but limited overall hunting success.
