Butte Merchant Dies on Fishing Trip in Mud Hole Rescue
Arthur L. Smith a 45 year old prominent Butte merchant died Sunday morning after suffering an acute dilation of the heart while trying to push his automobile from a mud hole in Bloody Dick. He was returning from a fishing trip with family when the incident occurred. His body was taken to Butte after being brought to Dillon where Coroner Phillips investigated the death.
