Brutal Barretts Station murder shocks Beaverhead County
A Japanese section hand Tokunaga Tokunaga killed Kanioka Kingoke at Barretts station nine miles south of Dillon in a brutal axe attack. Sheriff Pyle and Justice James secured Tokunaga with two Japanese witnesses while investigators gather evidence. Tokunaga claims innocence and threatens suicide if found guilty.

Normal Concert Delights Dillon Residents at May Meeting
A large audience at Normal Hall enjoyed Prof Pasmore and his class in a high quality program on May 22. The Scarf Fantastics led by Miss Phoebe Comfort drew hearty encore requests as nine dancers moved in pink empire gowns with long scarfs. Memorial services for veterans follow later in May with Rev. H F Cope and Rev. M B Loughlen listed. A 240 acre farm and hay ranch in Beaverhead valley is offered by Jas Kirkdatatype. Cheap rail rates to the East via Union Pacific and Rio Grande Western announced for June 5 6 with return by September 4.
