Indian defender shoots son-in-law in rural Montana
Thompson Falls report says Basso Jacko an elderly Indian near Narada used a rifle to protect his stepdaughter from her husband Buckskin who attacked with a hunting knife. Buckskin was fatally wounded with two gunshots and died from shock and blood loss. Jacko surrendered at Dixon authorities. Buckskin had prior prison term for killing a man.

Will Be Hanged for Murder in Riggs Case at Local Ranch
George T. Riggs, a rancher, was sentenced by District Judge Spencer to hang July 20 for the murder of his wife at their home near here, March 22. Testimony said Mrs. Riggs was unconscious from a blow and her clothing soaked with coal oil before being set on fire.
