Twenty-First Quadrennial Methodist Conference Opens
The twenty first quadrennial Methodist conference opened with a mass meeting at the Exposition hall presided by Bishop Bowman. Delegates from about one hundred and fifteen conferences worldwide gathered including representatives from Germany Switzerland Norway Sweden Italy Africa India Japan China and Mexico. The first business session elected J D Monroe as permanent secretary and a push for separate lay and ministerial seating won approval.
