Beets Sugar Plant Economics Affects Town Growth
Professor Cooley outlines that a 1000 ton daily beet sugar plant costs about 1 million dollars to build and equip. He estimates half the cost as labor spent locally, generating 200 jobs and 100 homes, plus ripple effects in farming, population, and local commerce. The plan could raise land values and boost local banks, stores, and real estate.
