Declamation Contest Held Here Saturday
The county declamation contest sponsored by the American Legion auxiliary took place at the training school auditorium Saturday afternoon with contestants from county schools. Florence Boka of Dillon won the fifth grade division Emmett Birrer of Gorman won the sixth Billy Tower and June Patrick of Dillon won seventh and eighth respectively. Winners received cash prizes and the seventh and eighth graders advance to the regional contest in Butte. The declamation covered the United States flag and each contestant prepared their own oration.
