Miss Aston Lloyd daughter of Mr and Mrs W E Lloyd received the most votes at the Wood man dance last Saturday earning Dillon's popular young woman title. Mrs Lee Hoerning placed second and Miss Jessie Cambron third as spectators noted keen competition during the final week of voting.

Beef shipment to Ogden includes 1840 pound Magpie steer
George Ditty shipped a carload of beef to Ogden the first of the week. A five year old Magpie steer in the lot weighed 1840 pounds on the scales. Mr and Mrs Mike Rebich and two children drove from near Blaine to Dillon on Saturday.

Smith Property Sold by Court for Higher Price
In district court Judge H G Rodgers presiding Minnie Smith estate property was ordered to be resold after a prior sale fell short. A brick building on North Montana street brought $600 and the nearby business block by the post office sold for $5,800, with other parcels rising in value.

Hogs Fetch High Prices as Hunsaker Ships from Spokane
I F Hunsaker returned from Spokane on Tuesday with two carloads of fat hogs and was pleased by the returns. Tops brought $13.60 per hundred while the heaviest hog weighed 660 pounds. Many hogs ranged 350 to 220 pounds and several brought over $60 per head. Little unemployment noted in Great Falls as the smelter rebuilds and absorbs labor slack.

Farm Hand Dies Protecting Property in Montana Barn Fire
A coroner jury ruled Tony Slabotnick, Austrian farm hand, died accidentally while attempting to extinguish a fire at the Martin Marcovitch ranch north of Dillon. A day-old calf was found burned. Slabotnick likely rescued livestock and perished from smoke or a collapsing timber. The loss totaled about 2500 dollars with horses unharmed but chickens, hay, and a Ford damaged. The funeral was held at Brundage chapel and burial at Mountain View.
