Tar and feathering mob drives Dillon holiness leader out

A mob of about 300 in Dillon captured W. Bridwell the holiness leader, stripped him, tarred his body, and sent him from town with orders to leave by Tuesday evening. The incident followed days of unrest fueled by local fears about the holiness group and Bridwell’s preaching. Bridwell later denied urging families apart and said his church would continue under new leadership in Denver.
