Legion Condemns New Montana Bonus Bill
Beaverhead Post of the American Legion voted unanimously against the proposed initiative for a state bonus of ten dollars per month per service month with a $200 max. They called the plan absurd and said sponsors seek to harm rather than help veterans. A committee was named to draft resolutions condemning the measure and publicizing the stance. The referendum bill would fund the bonus by a ten percent tax on corporate earnings from 1915 to 1919.
