Dillon Fourth of July Celebration Promises Big Draw

Dillon gears up for a grand Fourth of July with a spectacular parade trades procession and a Cowboy Tournament. Wresting match for Southern Montana title and a $100 purse, an oration by Judge Galbraith, base ball title game Argenta vs Dillon, and several races plus a pyrotechnic display. The parade features a Liberty Car and floats from local firms as the band and civic groups join in. Committees report strong finance turnout and new band leadership, with plans to invite lodges and organizations to participate.

Bessette Divorce Settled and Contempt Case Decided

The Bessette divorce, settled by mutual accord, awards the plaintiff $4000 in cash, the Argenta homestead, and property while granting alimony division and custody. The Kirkpatrick contempt ruling fines James Kirkpatrick $25 plus $80.80 costs for violating the 1880 water decree. Minor matters follow with various cases noted.
