Undersheriff Moore and a posse captured two men near Medicine Lodge and brought them to Dillon in Beaverhead county as suspects tied to the U P train robbery in Wyoming on June 2. The men Thompson brothers refuse real names, resemble two train robbers, and face Wyoming officers who may identify them. Bloodhounds are reported to pursue three other suspects near the Shoshone reservation, with further arrests expected.
List of letters remaining uncalled for at the Dillon post office dated June 23 1899 with 80 day deadline before transfer to the dead letter office. Rumors of dam breaks near the Big Hole river were unfounded says the Butte Miner. By 9 PM word from contractor Parsons and dam official Sterling confirmed safety at both the Wise river dam and the Divide dam with water levels dropping and no signs of failure.
The second monthly social at the Baptist parsonage Tuesday evening drew nearly all Normal students and many church youth. A local man, R. P. Willard, suffered a broken jaw and crushed cheekbone after a horse kicked him Sunday evening. His daughter Alta, home alone, heard his moans. He was found unconscious between two horses. Dr. H. O. Miller sees hope if blood poisoning is avoided.
