Idaho Lemhi and Beaverhead Men Push Armstead Leadore Route

Delegation from Lemhi County Idaho and Beaverhead County Montana met with the Montana State Highway Commission in Helena to advocate a standard grade highway linking Armstead through Leadore to Salmon, Idaho, potentially part of a transcontinental route to Portland. The group included W L Irvine O A Bergeson Harold Warner, Mrs Luanne Robinson, Earl McRea, Henry Benson, and Dillon Chamber members. W A Dalby urged ongoing cooperation while a Missoula forestry service visit was invited.

Laughter Analyzed At Dillon Rotary Meet

Dr. Marlin K. Farmer of the Normal college staff delivered Why People Laugh at the Dillon Rotary Club meeting. Phillips Family Visit From Inglewood Arrives

Local students lead spring honor roll at Normal College

Patricia Gilbert of Dillon and Barbara Hancock of Butte tie for first with 3.0 points per credit for 18 credits. Elizabeth Kingston of Valier and Elmer Tuomi of Sand Coulee follow, then a list of other top scholars including VanderArk of Manhattan, McBain of Dillon, Shaffner of Dillon, Dugan of Whitefish, and many more across Montana towns.

Dillon Man Awarded M D Degree Saturday

Dillon resident William H. Bates received his doctor of medicine degree from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor on Saturday June 1 5. He will begin internship at the University hospital in Ann Arbor in July. Bates was accompanied to the ceremony by his wife and his in laws Dr and Mrs Brandon of Ohio and plans a brief visit in Dillon this week.

Dillon Western Gala Rodeo Show Draws Top Cowhands

Dillon hosts its first annual rodeo at the fair grounds with top cowhands from Montana and beyond. Emmett Womack of Ennis promotes a strong entry, including clowns Diamond D Dewy and How ard Essex with trained Brahma bull. Parades start Saturday at 1 pm and Sunday at 11 am, with prizes for best rider and horse.

Elks Burlodrama Revival At Dart's Hall This June

The Elks drum and bugle corps stage a burlo drama reviving old time songs like Bicycle Built for Two and Bird in a Gilded Cage at Dart's Hall on June 22 27 and 29.
