Appeal Delays Execution of Yiek in Sheriff Murder
The execution of E. C. Davis alias Albert Yiek for the murder of Sheriff C. K. Wyman at Monida on April 21, scheduled for June 25, has been postponed after his attorneys filed an appeal to the Idaho Supreme Court for a new trial. The court granted 450 days to file briefs, delaying any decision. William Yick arrived and sought to intervene, while Sheriff Gosman explored cost-saving transfer options to the state prison, which would require a three-man death watch under state custody and prevent shifting the guard or relocation due to expense.
