Stores closed from 11 a m to 4 p m for a citywide Memorial Day program at the Dillon Theatre. The G A R Spanish American War veterans Company F State Militia and the Ladies Relief Corps gathered at Dart hall, fired volleys over Capt Lamont’s grave, and provided a free lunch after ceremonies.

County plans new jail building studied by commissioners
County commissioners in session consider a new jail to replace the old one. A stone and cement up to date structure is favored, based on architect C S Haire’s report to the grand jury printed last week. Total expenditure not yet decided.

Death of Mrs Delia Hopkins Remembered in Dillon
Word arrived in Dillon of the death of Mrs Delia Hopkins at Lake Forest Illinois. She was the mother of Mrs Guy Ames and visited Dillon last winter making many friends. She had recently undergone an operation from which she did not recover.

Dormitory Notes Report Recoveries and Visits
Miss Van Osdel is recovering from illness while her mother arrives from Helena and will stay until graduation. Miss Valeria Van Osdel had been ill but is now improving. Miss Winifred Newell travels to Twin Bridges for home. Mr. and Mrs. Foote were dormitory guests. Miss Kadletz departs with her mother for Idaho and is greatly missed. Miss Ross and Miss Chase bicycle to Argenta and back.

Funeral of Patrick Flynn in Wallace Idaho
Patrick Flynn died last week in Wallace Idaho. His funeral was held Saturday morning at the Catholic church with many friends in attendance. Pallbearers were Frank Birrer, William Knapp, T. M. O Conner, B. B. Patterson, Frank Caldwell and Wm Herman. He leaves a widow who will spend the summer with her brothers’ families on Blacktail.
