SIMPLE RITES HONOR WAR DEAD AT MEMORIAL DAY CEREMONY

Dillon residents and war veterans honored America's fallen with a Memorial Day procession and ceremony. A drizzly dawn delayed events, then a Legion band led the parade to the courthouse. Veterans from WWI, Spanish American, and Civil wars attended, along with Auxiliary, Red Cross, Boy Scouts, and students. A wreath and flag were placed at the grave as taps sounded and a wreath-laden service concluded with full honors at Mountain View cemetery.
