The Russell Brown Amusement company relocated early Monday, heading to Twin Bridges then Montana locales for celebrations this fall. Their rides drew crowds near the courthouse, sparking mixed feelings as they departed Sunday night.
John Bray of Lakeview became owner of a 2000 acre ranch in Centennial valley formerly held by Centennial Valley Land and Cattle company for about 50000 dollars. This marks the fourth ranch sale by the large land and cattle firm in recent months, noted as a desirable tract. R G McChorn acting county agent for Beaverhead county was summoned to Bozeman by the state council of defense to attend a county agent conference. Reports show farm work behind due to weather and labor shortages with much winter wheat killed and replanted to spring wheat. State defense council plans four July Beaverhead meetings with three distant speakers including a woman, to inform and benefit all families.
An 18 year old Hector Hoar and 15 year old Elton White from Pony neighborhood were arrested after traveling through snow and mountains to seek a marriage license. They fled home days earlier and faced parental notice as the court clerk blocked the license.
Report from their hometown notes the two individuals were last seen after a failed plan and were believed to be aiming for Salmon City Idaho. Authorities in Madison County are expected to escort them home.
