Celebration Scores Highlight Weekend Pageantry
On Monday and last Monday the celebration drew a score of 8 to 7 and 6 to 4 in disputed contests. Vaudeville street stunts fell short as only one outfit performed. Platforms stood unused for most of the day while hand-balancers were the sole act. The planned glove contest at 10:30 p.m. at the fair grounds was canceled after Sheriff Gosman warned arrests would follow any fight.
