Dillon Fourth Celebrations Highlight Memorable Independence Day
A lively Dillon Fourth of July featured a large parade with numerous floats including Eliel Bros and the Fair store, a bandstand program, and a long civic effort by the public comfort committee. Sporting events, horse and pony races, rock drilling, wrestling, and a 20 round boxing match capped with a Dart's hall ball and Yeomen dance. About 2,500 visitors, many from Butte, enjoyed a well organized and patriotic day despite a delayed excursion train.

Native feeders unload as cattle market shifts in off season
Chicago brokers note a rare surge of high quality native steer cattle entering the market while overall prices drop for steer lots. Declines of 15 to 25 cents last week and another 10 to 15 cents this week contrast with higher cow trade. Traders expect range cattle to lift values later, with $4.25 to $4.50 for good feeders and lower prices for middling stock, amid limited feed lots and rising corn.
