Clark Henry Griffiths a 33 year old rancher's son from Craig Mont died in Butte while under anesthesia for a throat operation. Dr Donovan an eye ear and throat specialist led the procedure and the patient suffered heart failure after slipping from the physicians control.

Helena January 24 Dr A D Raleigh longtime Methodist pastor in Missoula and Helena died in Helena after twenty one years in Montana. John S. Dougherty aged 54, longtime superintendent of the Washoe Smelters under Marcus Daly, died in Anaconda of pneumonia after a brief illness. A lifelong friend and business associate of D J Hennessey, he followed the Butte merchant to the grave within 24 hours. He leaves a widow and five children.

Andrew McMilkin of Dawson county pleaded guilty in federal court to illegally fencing 2 800 acres of public land. Judge Dietrich sentenced him to 24 hours in county jail and a $100 fine.
