Ditton Montana January 29 1897 The Tribune notes legislative friction over bills on boundary surveys with Idaho and a proposed initiative and referendum measure causing fights in the house. It praises the Sheridan Paper for urging the Powell county bill and calls attention to a cold wave relief effort across the United States and continued public generosity.
The Madison County Monitor announces new management and editor aims to revive the paper. The editor pledges a live local sheet for Twin Bridges, Madison County, and Montana, and invites readers to engage with a smaller but meaningful journal. Apollo Lodge details meeting times and welcomes visitors, with L. J. Price as secretary and J. A. Conasr as noble grand.
